  1. This is a message I wrote on friday, but I sent it at the wrong place.

  5. I saw Laurent yesterday. He has done the no-ghost mode and the texture
  6. mapping of the walls. For the moment there's only one texture but this
  7. should be settled by monday. It looks great and it's FAST. Only 030 code
  8. though.
  9. We couldn't get DEE to work on his machine. His falcon is unmodified and
  10. we booted clean with control, but we got 2 bombs anyway.
  11. The only difference with my falcon, on which it works fine, is that I
  12. use the shareware wad, whereas he uses the commercial one.
  13. Any idea about this?
  14. I tested it anyway, and it looks great, exactly like DOOM in fact.
  15. It is so exactly the same to the littlest details that I have very strong
  16. suspicions. Laurent looked at the code, and it looks very much like C.
  17. You know, even the text messages in the beginning look like those on PC.
  18. My opinion is that this is a recompilation of the ORIGINAL iD code.
  19. I think that this is actually DOOM. This guy got hold of the source code,
  20. how, I don't know, but this source has gone out of iD (I have already heard
  21. of somebody having these sorces)
  22. So he coldn't sell it to anybody anyway because this is conterfeited.
  23. If he really has done this, it is very illegal.
  24. What reinforces my opinion is that most of the things that don't work are
  25. machine dependant (music, sond effects, keyboard layout...)
